The Mod Wish List Part 1.

WISH LIST

Hiya guys today's posts will be about a wish list, so any of you nice people out there wanna buy me anything these are the items I want (only joking.)

So lets get started, the first item I want is a Merc Boating blazer.

I want this because I love the way it looks, I first wanted a boating blazer when I saw the video "when you're young." By The Jam, Paul Weller is wearing a black blazer with pink strips, and once I saw that I knew I wanted one. After looking online I could not find the same one Paul Weller has but I found this one from Merc, I big fan of the Merc clothing so I was really excited to see they did a boating blazer but the sad thing is, it is more then I can spend on a blazer the retail price on eBay £144.99.

The next item on the list would be a Vespa px 125cc

This is one thing I want so so much, I have so much love for Vespa scooters, I you read my last post MOD LIFE I talk about scooters and about the one I own at the moment, I would love this scooter because I love the way it looks, sound and smell of the two stoke oil. If I ever own one of these I would feel like a proper little mod, I know that is sad but I would because everytime I am parked up next a Vespa or Lambreta it makes my scooter look like rubbish. So if anyone fancies buying me a Vespa px125cc they cost around £3000 so be nice, help me out.

Next on the list is a pair of white Levis 501's

I would love a pair of white Levis 501's, the reasons being again Paul Weller and the 60's mod scene, they just look so cool with a pair of desert boots and a polo shirt.
I used to own a pair of dark blue 501's but they did not fit me properly so I gave them to my dad, waste of £70. I really like Levis because of the quality of the denim and they wash really well.
I can never find any white 501's in any store, I know they sell Levis so I can not see if they suit me or not.
Here is the video that made me want these jeans. THE JAM GHOSTS.

Gin Tonic men's suit jacket and trousers from Merc.

Again more items from Merc, like I said before with the boating blazer i'm a big fan of Merc and this suit is to die for. I am a massive fan of suits and I wish I could wear one everyday not just for work, I really love dressing smart and if I had the money I would live in suits. So if any family are reading this or my girlfriend fancies buying me something, buy me this, links here you can add it all together yourself, Jacket and trouser.

Thank you for reading hope you enjoyed it.

MOD LIFE!!!!!!

All right everyone the subject I will be writing about is my love for the MOD culture,
for anyone that does not know a Mod is, this blog post will explain.

HOW I GOT INTO THE MOD CULTURE.

Well I got into the Mod culture through my parents, who were Mod in the late 70s early 80s.
They did not really tell a lot about culture when I was little, but I remember watching the film Quadrophenia with my sister and mother, and she told me and my sister that her and my dad were Mods. I believe I was about 12/13 years old and I was really did not take any notice at that time because I was into punk bands, rock bands and metal bands anything different to my parents music really, but I remember I really enjoyed the film, I think it was because of all the swearing and fighting that is in the film.

Well through the years I got into a lot music music, like death metal, metalcore. grindcore even dubstep, anything heavy really. I played in a metal band for a few years, I enjoyed playing live and meeting new music but quickly I became bored how people acted in the metal/hardcore scene, more and more stock up people started coming to shows, and as well everyone looked the same, I got into that music and fashion to be different and I did not feel different anymore. My dad brought Quadrophenia on dvd because we only had it on video, I put it on I felt like I was watching it through new eyes, It was not the swear and fighting that made we keep on watching it, it was the clothes, the music and story, I felt like the main character Jimmy, I to wanted to be something more then I was, so after watching it and went on Google typed in Mod fashion/music and researched everything I could, I started asking my parents about been Mods when they were younger, the more they told me the more in got into it.

The music I listened to changed, I really got into The Jam and the Small Faces and lots of 60s soul music. ska, jazz, northern soul, 60s rnb bands and also new wave bands. I was so tired of listening to metal I still like it but I have to be in the mood to listen to it now. listening to this different type of music opened my eyes and ears, I saw the way I wanted to look and the type of music I wanted to make.

Another part of the Mod culture I really got into was the fashion, I loved how they dressed.
The main part of been a Mod is bettering yourself, so looking good, having nice clothing, great hair
looking better then everyone and just been confidence.
I am not going to lie, I probably look rubbish to everyone else but I think look good sometimes, so to me that is all that matters.
The one thing About Mod fashion is that it can cost a lot, so when money is tight, I shop at Ebay. I Think it is the best place to buy named brand clothes at a cheaper price.

Well as I was getting more and more into the mod look and mindset, I needed a scooter.
As you might know 60s Mods had scooters and also drove mini's.
The makes all Mods want is a Vespa or Lambretta, like I said before my parents were Mods in the 80s they too had scooters.

So I wanted to get a scooter, not just for the look but to save me from going on the bus with all the weirdos, the scooter I wanted was a Vespa PX125CC but I did not and still do not have £3000 to spend, and my parents would not let me get one on finance, I saved about a £1000 of birthday money I got when I was 18 and I found a scooter for that much, brand new and that kind of looked like a Vespa it was called Lexmoto Tommy 125cc, it get me to A to B but to be honest I hate it but i'll do another blog post about that.
I feel really sad when a nice Vespa is parked up next to me, it makes my scooter like rubbish.

Well I think that is everything about me getting into the Mod culture, I am sorry if I did not go in dept about Mod history but I am still learning today, all I can say is Youtube is a wonderful thing you can find out a lot about Mods on there, this is just to show you how I got into it thank you for reading..........

Good things and bad things about been in a band

Alright everyone first post of the new year, if you have not read any of my blog posts before, I write about random subjects I do not have a set theme with my blog, so lets get started.

This will only be a small post but I will tell you a few of my thoughts about being in a band.

THE GOOD

  • Hanging around with your mates. making music you love.
  • Meeting new people and going to new places.
  • Being in the recording studio, making an album or EP.
  • Being able to express yourself and get your point across.
  • Putting your music on the internet so people around the world can listen to you.
  • Having t-shirts and cd's made.

THE BAD

  • Never having any money.
  • People not coming to shows.
  • Playing shows with bands you dislike.
  • Being over charged at the recording studio.
  • People saying they hate your band.
  • People downloading your music and not paying for it.
  • Playing shows where people do not like your style of music.
  • Getting to many t-shirts made and no one buys them.

Well that's all folks hope you enjoyed it, oh a word of advise if you wanna start a band have this in mind, play for fun, write music you love not music you think will make you popular, be yourself.
